Why Brazil Should Be On Everyone’s Bucket List

There are thousands of reasons to visit Brazil, but you don’t need all of those thousands of reason to convince you, right? In fact, you probably already have your mind made up. You’re just exploring for even more reasons to go. You’re in luck. Listed below are 7 more reasons why you should be in Brazil right now!

    1. Carnivals – If you are into wild carnivals with lots of drinking, partying, and plenty of fun stuff to do then Rio is for you. The city is considered to be the mecca place for carnivals, and all things that follow with it.
    2. Copacabana Beach – Famous for its beautiful white-sand shores and ocean blue water Copacabana beach is the place to be! Really, who doesn’t like a hot-sunny day with beautiful woman (and men) walking around enjoying themselves? Lenny kravitz was a favorite in 2005 when he performed there in front of a crowd of 300,000. White-sand, blue ocean, and a top-notch celebrity performing for the masses? Now that is a beach!

    1. Find your future Wife – Of course this isn’t for everyone, but Brazil host some of the most beautiful woman in the world. Especially cariocas, or woman who are very hospitable and friendly. Who doesn’t want a hospitable and friendly wife?
    2. Women Rule Brazil – A short trip to Rio will prove this. In Rio it is believed that the ratio to woman to men is 100/86. That is 100 woman for every 86 guys. That just boosted your chances of finding some female companionship by 100%.
    3. Workout Junkies – Brazil is one of the few nations that believe in staying fit and looking good. A short trip to one of their many cities will prove this. You’ll see woman, men, and sometimes even children doing daily workout exercises on beach. Enjoying the sun and all that their country has to offer.

  1. Start Learning Portuguese – Brazilians love to speak Portuguese. So if you’ve been trying to learn the language, or perhaps you just want to start learning a new language while in a foreign country (uncommon) Brazil is probably the best country to get started with. Who knows, maybe you will find a beautiful cariocas?
  2. Beautiful Weather – All year round you can expect 75 degrees or more, included with sun and clouds. It sounds like perfect weather, and it is! Who doesn’t like sunny days filled with a blue sky and puffy clouds? It makes for great activities and helps induce happiness.

Bailes de Luces Festival 2012

Last January 5 I was in La Castellana Negros Occidental to cover the annual celebration of the Bailes de Luces Festival. Every December 30 the town of La Castellana holds the street dancing competition while every January5th Bailes de Luces Arena competition is held at the town plaza.

This is one amazing festival that is better experienced by watching it live or videos rather than just staring at the photos. The interplay of lights is just so amazing.

Check out the video of Brgy Robles, this year’s champion who is also a Grand Finalist in the recent GrandFinals of ABS CBN’s talent show, Showtime,

South West Air Corporation opens flights to Masbate, Virac & Legazpi

I was casually browsing Facebook for some streaming updates from different pages I am subscribed when I stumble upon this very familiar Bicolano terminology – Bicol Air Express. No,  I am not talking about the favorite chili-rich dish in Bicol, it is a local airline which was launched in December.

BICOL AIR EXPRESS now can fly you from Legazpi to Virac in Cataduanes and in Masbate. South West Air Corporation makes a breakthrough in the airline industry as they finally started serving tourist who want to visit the island provinces of Bicol Region.

Launching in Virac was held in December 7, in Legazpi City on December 12 and in Masbate on December 15, 2011. The three launches highlighted SWA guarantee of safe and on-time flights for all its passengers. It also promotes the boutique airline’s promise of providing a unique flying experience punctuated with a courteous in-flight crew.

To kick things off, a tropical event was held at Twin Rock Resort in Virac, Catanduanes to celebrate the island’s feast. The resort a prime destination that BAE will promote as the company aids in enhancing the image of Catanduanes as one of the main Tropical Island destinations in the Philippines. Countless guests, including Catanduanes Governor Joseph Cua, turned up in their beach outfits and were treated to an array of local delicacies with non-stop entertainment throughout the evening.

The Legazpi launch, on the other hand, was a different form revelry as guests showed up in their grand cocktail dresses and suits for the party held at South Road Bar in Pepperland Hotel. Highlight of the night was the presentation of the Aircraft, along with footage of the actual successful landing at the airport. The event was well attended as no less than Albay Congressman Al Francis Bichara and Department of Tourism head Nina Revilla with former Department of Tourism Director Nonie Calleja were present. To show his support to the airline, Cong. Bichara encouraged his constituents and all Bicolanos to support the Boutique Airline.

Capping the grand launch was a simple gathering held in Masbate. Despite the BMC conditions not allowing the plane to arrive in the city, the team from BAE managed to successfully push through with the event. A short program was held, which included a ceremonial ribbon cutting led by executives from BAE.

I had an inside info that they are also covering Naga City in March.
