Manila Hotels with the Highest Traveler Ratings

With so many hotels to choose from in Manila, it can be incredibly difficult to find the right one. Here are five hotels that I think are special enough that I recommend them to friends and family.

The Pan Pacific Manila has spectacular rooms and great facilities. The frontdesk staff is well trained and super accommodating. When you arrive, you are not only welcomed but offered a complimentary cocktail to ease your travel pains. Personal butlers are ready to assist you on each floor and the rooms are sumptuously accommodated with comfy beds and hot tubs and showers in the washroom. I admit it, I have soaked in the hot tub while watching TV and then gotten out to put on my plush robe before having a good night sleep last summer… It was perfect.

There are plenty of restaurants in the hotel and the pool is clean, comfortable, and well appointed. While not far from the Robinson Place Mall in Manila there is plenty of other shopping and nightlife nearby to keep you entertained.

The Manila Hotel. This grand old lady of Manila still has all the class and style that she was famous for back in the day. From the moment you walk into the lobby you can see why this is the place that the elite of Manila and the world have always come to stay. You can also see why. The linens, furnishings, and amenities are all top of the line here. This is a luxury hotel with a history and as you walk through the halls or dine in the restaurants, you can actually feel it.

The Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila has been maligned by some but I always find it to be a consistantly great hotel. The current management did a great job of converting and upgrading the property to a high standard. From French provincial furniture to big plush king beds on the club floor, you won’t be disappointed. The club floor offers breathtaking views of Manila and includes a delicious breakfast in the Spiral Restaurant plus afternoon tea, wine tasting, and unlimited internet access. Breakfast had everything from Filipino rice to smoked salmon. One great feature is the pillow menu – you can actually choose the pillow you prefer to rest your head on – in your room, not in the restaurant. Also, for those worried about security, this is one of the highest rated hotels in Manila.

The Best Western Hotel La Corona. I remember when Best Western was a budget chain but these days it’s more like a luxury brand though you still end up saving on the pesos. With a great staff and a delicious breakfast buffet, this is a great upper-mid-range hotel. With newly renovated bathrooms and a great location near Rizal Park and many Manila activities, this is a great bet for families and those who are in Manila for just a couple of days and want a safe, clean room without a lot of frills.

The Diamond Hotel Manila on Roxas Boulevard is only a twenty minute taxi ride from the airport. With a gorgeous exterior and a fantastic pool, this hotel looks like the diamond it is named for. Close to restaurants, drinks, and shopping and sporting a world class in hotel spa – the Diamond Hotel has everything you could ask for.

I’ll probably add some more as soon as I find new hotels that deserves to be on the list:)
